I am excited to announce the release of my latest book, “Eat Clean 21: A 21-Day Detox and Nutritional Cleanse.” The program was initially available as a digital download on this website. Clients who participated in the original version of this program had great results! They experienced weight loss, increased energy, clearer skin, and higher levels of cognitive functioning.
The new and improved program is published on Amazon as both paperback and Kindle!
The basis of my detox and nutritional philosophy remains the same: eat real food and nourish the body, do not starve it. Diets are usually a scam and/or an unsustainable way to make changes to your health. Many cleanse, diet, and detox programs on the market can leave you feeling miserable! The Eat Clean 21 program is not a die. It’s unlike any other cleanse. It’s a 21-day introduction to a clean, whole-food-eating way of life. With my program, there’s no calorie counting or fasting involved – just a focus on reconnecting with real, nourishing food. You’ll feel satisfied and energized throughout the 21-day program.
Anyone who wants to start or continue a healing journey! Whether you’re looking to reset your metabolism, kickstart your weight loss journey, improve your cognition, or heal your digestive system, the Eat Clean 21 can help! It’s one of the only cleanse programs that truly support your body’s needs without leaving you feeling hungry, moody, or deprived!
During the program, you will be eliminating some highly processed foods and toxic food groups, but you will be replacing those things with foods extremely high in nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Clients who have participated in the program felt so full and nourished. As a result, they barely noticed they had eliminated anything! I even had a client state that they had difficulty eating junk food after the cleanse! Eventually, processed food just doesn’t taste good anymore!
We traded snow boots for flip flops and escaped to Moon Palace Jamaica in mid-January—and let me tell you, it was absolute paradise. Most of our days were spent parked on the beach, with Jerk Hut chicken in one hand and a frozen drink in the other. #NoRegrets
If you’re dreaming of a family vacation with beach time, incredible food, nonstop kid activities, and a little R&R for yourself, keep reading.
Where We Stayed 🛏️
Our Deluxe Resort View with Balcony at Moon Palace gave us a perfect peek at the beautiful resort while offering just enough space to wind down at night. The room was cozy, clean, and came with all the comforts you’d expect. But let’s be honest—the beach was the real star of the show. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this trip would be more about sand between our toes than splashing in the pool.
Days on the Beach ☀️
This time we skipped the pool—this trip was all about the beach life. While the kids played in the water all day long, we kicked back under the sun, enjoying ocean breezes and no responsibilities.
And the best part? Non-motorized water sports were included with our stay. The kids rotated between kayaking, paddleboarding, and the Hobie Cats (which they thought were the coolest things ever).
They also couldn’t get enough of the FlowRider® Double Wave Simulator, where they surfed, wiped out, and repeated that cycle for hours at a time.
Big Kid Energy at the Arcade 🎮
Every evening, the boys headed to Wired Lounge, the on-site arcade. It’s packed with console video games, fun challenges, and even snacks. Open from 9 a.m. to midnight, this place became their post-dinner hangout spot. And honestly, it gave us some much-needed adult downtime. Win-win.
Spa Time = My Time 💆♀️
The next morning, while they were off on a fishing excursion, I took full advantage of a rare solo moment. I snuck away for a morning of pure bliss. The Moon Palace Spa is heaven on earth. I booked a massage and hydrotherapy session, and it was next level.
✨ What is hydrotherapy? It’s a series of hot and cold plunges, saunas, steam rooms, and jet-powered pools designed to detox, relax your muscles, and reset your nervous system. It’s basically a spa circuit for the soul. Highly recommend.
Dining at Moon Palace 🍽️
We’re a foodie family, and Moon Palace did not disappoint. We tried almost everything and here are the standouts:
Jerk Hut: We ate here at least once per day. It’s casual, located near the beach, and serves traditional Jamaican jerk and other local favorites. So. Dang. Good.
Boulangerie: Our go-to for morning coffee and late-night ice cream. Open 24/7 and feels like a chic Parisian café.
Buccaneers Reef: The buffet—especially for breakfast—is where it’s at. You’ll want to try a little bit of everything.
Pier 8, Momo, and Gondola all brought their A-game too. From Caribbean grill to Asian fusion to Italian a la carte, there’s something for everyone.
Bonus Experience: Swimming with Dolphins 🐬
As if the food wasn’t enough to rave about, right next to the resort, you’ll find a dolphin encounter. We bought tickets in the main lobby and had a magical time swimming and interacting with dolphins in the ocean. Total highlight.
What to Pack for Moon Palace Jamaica 🧳
Don’t forget these travel essentials! (Affiliate links coming in hot 💸)
Water Shoes!!! (One of my kids DID get stung by a sea urchin) These are my go-to.
Beach Tote – Big enough for sunscreen, towels, water, books, etc. The resort is a little walk away. You’ll want to be prepared. I love this waterproof tote!

Hey there beauties! In today’s world, our skin is constantly getting shat on by toxins from everyday products. Let’s dive in to learn how you can protect your body from excess toxicity while simultaneously introducing beneficial types of toxins into your diet.
What is skin detoxing and why should you do it?
So, what is skin detoxing, and why the heck should you do it? Skin detoxing refers to the process of cleansing your skin to remove the toxins that have settled within it. Ideally, you should detox your skin at least twice a year. I like to focus on detoxing before the summer and fall seasons start, as this is when my skin is more likely to become oily and break out.
Toxins in cosmetics and skincare products
You may think that your favorite beauty products are the sh*t when it comes to improving the condition of your skin, but that’s not always the case. Many popular makeup and cleansing products on the market can wreak havoc on your skin and fill your body with toxic chemicals. By detoxing your skin, you can help to remove the following toxins from your skin left there by beauty products: Resorcinol, Hydroquinone, Parabens, Sulfates, Triclosan, Silicones, and Paraffin wax. Who wants those things getting into their bloodstream? Not me.
Toxins in household cleaners
If you really want to protect your skin from toxins, then you’ll also need to pay attention to the household cleaners that you’re using. Many household cleaners contain harmful toxins like Dioxane, Ethylene glycol, and Triclosan that can negatively impact the quality of your skin when it comes in contact with the cleaner and by absorbing chemicals in the air.
Okay, So How Do I Detox My Skin?
Now, here are five badass ways to detox your skin: 1 – Detox Diet: A detox diet is a healthy eating plan that helps to remove toxins from your liver and digestive tract. When you nourish your body, you can enhance the body’s natural detoxification process. Oh, by the way, did I mention that I wrote a whole flipping book about detoxing? It’s actually a 21-day nutritional cleanse with a done-for-you meal plan, mouth-watering recipes, and loads of other great resources to help your body naturally detox. You can grab the Eat Clean 21 Program here or head to the menu at the top of the page to learn more! 2 – Exercise: Regular exercise helps to flush out toxins from your body through sweat and by increasing circulation. 3 – Drink water: Drinking water helps to flush out toxins from your body. 4 – Sleep: Getting enough sleep is essential for detoxing your skin. Your body repairs and regenerates your skin cells while you sleep, which helps to remove toxins from your body. 5 – Skin Care: Use natural skin care products that don’t contain harmful chemicals. This will help to prevent your skin from absorbing the toxins mentioned above.. 6, Try Dry Brushing: It’s a bit like using a giant toothbrush on your body, but instead of toothpaste, you use nothing but the bristles to work their magic (be sure to choose one with natural bristles, like this one HERE).
How To Dry Brush Your Skin:
The deal is simple: grab a brush with stiff bristles and get to work, starting from your feet and working your way up to your heart with a gentle circular motion, then hop in the shower to wash away all of the yuck!
So, there you have it, gorgeous! Now you know how to protect your skin from harmful toxins while introducing beneficial types of toxins into your diet. Happy skin cleansing, babes!
Let’s talk about MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase)—a ridiculously long word for something incredibly important. This enzyme helps convert folate (vitamin B9) into its active form, 5-MTHF. It’s a big deal because it supports methylation—a process your body relies on to detox from mold, parasites, chemicals, and other toxins.
Oh, and here’s the kicker: we ALL have the MTHFR gene. In fact, we each carry two copies—one from each parent.
What’s Methylation and Why Should You Care? 🔄
Methylation sounds complicated, but it’s basically your body’s way of turning functions on or off by attaching (or removing) tiny methyl groups to molecules.
MTHFR kicks things off by helping your body convert folic acid into usable folate. From there, it powers up your entire methylation cycle—including the conversion of homocysteine into methionine, a compound that:
Repairs cells
Detoxifies the body
Reduces inflammation
Supports neurotransmitters (hello, mood boost!)
Even better? Methionine creates SAM-e, which helps regulate your mood and contributes to your body’s main detoxifier: glutathione. When methylation isn’t working, your body can’t make enough glutathione, and you’re left holding on to way too many toxins.
When Things Go Wrong… 🧪
Back in 1994, scientists discovered two common mutations of the MTHFR gene. And they’re more common than you think—about 40–50% of people in the U.S. have at least one.
Even one mutation can reduce how well your body detoxes. Two? That’s even more of a challenge.
In my case, I have one MTHFR mutation. It’s helped me piece together why I’ve struggled with certain health issues. It’s wild to think about what’s possible for someone with two copies affected!
How To Know If You Have an MTHFR Mutation 🔍
You’ve got options:
Talk to your doctor about MTHFR and methylation pathway testing
Order a DNA test kit online (that’s what I did!)
Look out for symptoms that point to methylation issues
Some red flags might include:
Mood swings and anxiety
Poor response to supplements
Chronic fatigue or brain fog
Hormonal imbalances
Digestive issues like IBS
Autoimmune disorders
Certain conditions have also been linked to MTHFR mutation and poor methylation, including:
ADHD
Autism
Migraines
Cardiovascular disease
PCOS
Colon cancer
Schizophrenia
The Good News: Genes Are Not Your Destiny 💪
This is where things get exciting. Thanks to epigenetics (aka the study of how your environment affects gene expression), you can actually support your methylation—regardless of what your genes say.
Here’s what I recommend:
🍃 Eat Clean & Green
Support your body’s natural detox pathways with real, nutrient-dense food. Load up on:
Dark leafy greens
Beets
Avocados
Lentils
Broccoli
Spinach
Garlic
Tuna
Bell peppers
Cabbage
Eating clean matters big time when your body already struggles to process toxins.
💊 Take the Right Supplements
If you have a mutation, regular B vitamins won’t cut it. You need pre-methylated forms like 5-MTHF.
Also helpful:
Magnesium
Vitamin D
Glutathione
Avoid folic acid (the synthetic form of folate) if you suspect methylation issues. It can build up and cause more harm than good.
🧘♀️ Manage Stress Like a Boss
Stress is a major methylation killer. So don’t wait for burnout—get ahead of it. Try:
Journaling
Meditation
Deep breathing
Time in nature
Saying no (without guilt!)
Whatever calms your nervous system, prioritize it.
🍷 Cut Back on Alcohol
Alcohol puts a ton of strain on your liver—especially if you’re already struggling with detox. Reducing or eliminating alcohol can help you feel better and give your body space to heal.
Final Thoughts ✨
Not every mutation causes problems, but if you’re someone with unexplained health issues, poor detox, or neurological symptoms, MTHFR could be part of the puzzle.

By our fourth trip to Royalton Riviera Cancun, I figured we’d seen it all—until we walked into the Presidential Two Bedroom Suite.
Let me just say this: it was giving main character energy in all the best ways. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a wraparound balcony, rooftop terrace, ocean views, and… a literal kitchen. I don’t even cook on vacation, but the vibe was right.
🛋️ What the Royalton Riviera Presidential Suite Actually Includes
The resort’s website calls it “modern, expansive, and ideal for family holidays.” And yeah, that’s pretty spot-on. But let’s break it down from someone who’s actually stayed in it—because the photos don’t even show you everything.
Here’s what we had:
Primary suite with king bed and ocean view
Second bedroom = a Luxury Junior Suite with its own entry, attached via connecting door
Living room area with a sofa, table, and kitchen (perfect for snacks and room service)
3 bathrooms, including one with a soaking tub and rain shower
Wraparound balcony thanks to the corner unit location
Rooftop terrace with loungers and ocean views for days
The second bedroom is honestly just another full suite—same finishings, same lux feel. If you don’t book the Presidential 2-bedroom, that part stays locked. But if you do? It’s a total upgrade for family travel. Teens in one suite, parents in the other… privacy and proximity.
I sat on the balcony in the mornings with coffee and on the rooftop at sunset with a cold drink. It was big enough for everyone to have their own moment—and yes, I let the teens take selfies up there too. Priorities.
🧖♀️ Royal Treatment, Teen Edition
The kids made friends by the pool, picked up a few Spanish phrases from the sweetest staff member, and even played rooftop tennis like vacation pros. Wrapped in plush white bathrobes, they walked around like actual royalty—no shame, they earned it. Honestly, I kind of loved seeing them soak it all in.
They truly felt like royalty. I mean, I get it… so did I.
🌊 Presidential Perks That Made a Difference
While the suite is part of the Diamond Club, the real luxury came from the space, privacy, and extra touches:
Room service delivered to two separate doors
Space to chill without being on top of each other
A bathroom to yourself (which, let’s be honest, is the ultimate gift when traveling with teens)
The views. Just… the views.
💭 Would I Book the Presidential Suite Again?
In a heartbeat. But I’ve got my eye on the Presidential Swim-Up Suite next time—or maybe even the Chairman’s Suite (a girl can dream, okay?).
Let’s just say if this blog takes off, I’ll be the first one packing my straw hat and pressing “Book Now.”
